The Limb
Would you agree with me that this world is now out on a limb? If I read scripture correctly Scripture says the world is out on a limb. It just doesn’t tell us which limb so it must be our own. The very limb we grafted into the tree of life when we left, hurriedly, from the Garden. Actually, we didn’t leave, we were booted out . . . summarily.
Adam and Eve didn’t obey the simplest command God could have given them. Of all the trees bearing fruit in the Garden only one were they not allowed to eat the fruit of. Doesn’t say what type of tree or, therefore, which type of fruit. Doesn’t matter much now does it? They were told no and did it anyway. Sound familiar?
You’d think that after thousands of generations which have been born and then snuffed out somebody would have learned to listen to authority. Nope. This is why we’re in the fix we’re in and a major fix it is. Think, thermonuclear. The biggest toy Putin has that he is just itching to use. God never told mankind not to explode. At least, not that I’ve read. However, after admonitions galore, we still don’t take no for an answer. Humans aren’t good with “no’s.”
The Hippies, when I was teenaged, said make love not war. That was when birth control unbridled the loins of men and women and the party was on. God doesn’t much like that action either. Seems sex is to produce children to create now, more sensible generations and that went nowhere fast also. Problem is, a guy or gal is born with no experience, no instincts but, then, we’re not deer are we? I looked in the mirror before I sat down to write this and did not see a deer refelcted. Just this old mug that needs a shave.
Well, I don’t write this to act like I am a scholar. I don’t write this to preach. I don’t write this because I have to either. Nah, I write this because it is my time to discuss with those who will listen to seventy-six years of major screw ups, what some call life. Peace and love from this old man to you; whoever you are.
(Just call me, “Typo.”)
