Who Da Thunk?
Growing up before computers left the outdoors a much more wonderful pastime as a kid. At first, a telephone was connected to an operator to whom you gave the number of the person you were calling and she connected you to that number. Then came dial and, after that by several years, push-button. Still no computers. All was done by hand so one might say that we of that era were “handier.” We had to be because that’s all there was. There were no nailguns either and no pocket calculators and typewirters had ribbons with the inevitable bottle of “white out” sitting close by.
The last thing most of you want to hear is that it was better, “back then.” It was different, but better is a rather null word for humanity. Humanity is only as good as the humans who are alive at the time. The humans just before I was born wanted to kill, and did, a ludicrous amount of people just like Ghengis Kahn. Life is always strange isn’t it? That question should be considered much more than it is.
We are, in my estimation, an odd group. Odd because we have the capability for so much good that it is an irony that we have killed so many of each other over the invisible. Invisible such as borders and designated places we cannot go without comeuppance. This has to be though as differences are huge as to how people act once they arrive at a given place over a given border. I reckon that coming from a third world country to America is kind of like giving a three year old keys to a Ferrari. It isn’t going to go well. Sounds good but they’re not ready for it.
Well, this is my Tuesday morning quarter backing if you will allow it. I only ask that you take it and consider it as you will.
