I thought today, that I would speak of things I have little or no experience with, such as, fine dining. I’ve never been to a fine restaurant but I have been to a few fairly nice ones and even worn a cheap suit to go there. I don’t have a gold toilet seat either. Nor, a fifty room mansion. I drive an old used Jeep JK, two door. Yet, I have few wants” in life except to be left alone by governments of federal, state, and county. I pay my taxes and do the right thing and still end up being taxed . . . a lot!
I went to combat more than once and paid for that wonderful experience with a screwed up lower back. I live with it well enough. Hell, I worked construction with it for decades and retired well enough off that I didn’t have to work beyond that age of retirement. That money got taxed also. So, fine dining is not on my schedule – ever. I would like to have half the money that some wealthy people have but I worked for the wealthy which is why I don’t need the money. There were a few nice wealthy people to work for and who paid what it was worth for my expertise. That was good enough for me as those people spent lots of time dining in fine restaurants all the while pulling their hair out because the stock market was down.
Money is funny. You think you want a lot until you find out it doesn’t come with strings attached it comes with nooses attached and kindly provided by the IRS. You’ve heard of the IRS? The tax folks who do their part to either ruin your life or make it miserable unless you pay them for your right to live. Now those are folks who shouldn’t be caught in a fine dining establishment. How much you wanna bet they dine fine? Just before they fine you.
